Friday Night Fights

Friday Night Fights: A Compilation of Sabres Fights

After a one week hiatus I am happy to bring back the Friday Night Fights.  It's starting to feel a little bit like hockey season.  The nights are getting colder and the news is starting to pick up.

The selection for Friday Night Fights is an interesting one.  Is it right that my two favorite parts are Derek Roy getting thrown around like a rag doll and Eric Boulton mocking Andrew Peters?

A special thanks to Marbar for sharing this video.

Friday Night Fights: McCormick Makes a Name For Himself

The Buffalo Sabres signed Cody McCormick a couple of weeks ago and none of us knew anything about him.  We had a comment from an Avs fan that spoke highly of him.  Watching him take on an NHL Heavyweight like Darren McCarty has convinced me that this kid is tough.

I never thought the Sabres would bring Peters back this season but now I am convinced that Peters will not be a member of the Buffalo Sabres this season.  I like this McCormick kid.

Friday Night Fights: Rivet vs. Montador

What more can you ask for?  The Captain fighting against the newest member of the Sabres blue-line.  This was not a very good fight but it was nice to see Montador come to the defense of his teammate and Rivet got a couple of nice shots in.  It was tough to declare a winner in the fight but HockeyFights.com declared Craig Rivet the winner.  You decide for yourself.

Friday Night Fights: May and Kypreos Tangle; Messier get the Gate

It's time for another edition of the Friday Night Fights.  I hope everyone gets a kick out of this simple little feature the same way I do.  I really have no set criteria for a fight that may end up featured on a Friday night but I'm not sure I'll find another as good as this.

This fight has all the makings of a classic.  It features a line brawl, some blood on the ice and Mark Messier getting a game misconduct.  I have no idea if the Sabres actually came back and tied the game but it doesn't make the fight any less exciting.

Friday Night Fights: Sabres Versus Flyers Line Brawl

Since we still have a long summer ahead of us I figured one way we could pass some time is some Friday Night Fights.  Every Friday Night I will post a fight involving the Buffalo Sabres from some point  in their history.  Tonight the fight is a line brawl involving the Sabres and Flyers.  The video quality is not the greatest but if you like a good fight this is a must see.

When I first turned this clip on I thought I would be looking for another one immediately but then the action started picking up.  I call this the fight that never ends; every time you think they are going to stop fighting they start again.  This fight even includes a full sprint down ice from Dominic Hasek...no lie!
