Now that this season is over, it's a good time to look into what this tire fire might have in store for us. If this team was that bad this year then next year should be a real treat. Some of these may be fairly obvious so feel free to make your own predictions in the comments.
- The Sabres will finish the season with twenty five wins
The Sabres barely finished this season with twenty wins, and the addition of a Ekblad, Bennett, or Reinhart will have little help with that. The offseason seems like it won't be of interest to the team and the tank is always in mind.
Mikhail Grigorenko will finish with 70 points for the Amerks
Grigorenko finally will have his chance to show that he has what it takes to compete. With 23 games in the QMJHL, Grigorenko finished with 39 points. This test will help him prove all naysayers wrong. He won't be a monster in the AHL like he was in the Q but Grigorenko will display that he is a consistent, competitive skater.
Matt Hackett will be the Sabres back-up goaltender at the end of the season
On the stint that he is currently on in the NHL due to the injury to Michal Neuvirth, Hackett has shown good things about his play. He has also shown confidence about his future with the club. This confidence will carry with him into next season and he will step up his game from what was a not great season with the Americans this season.
I'm not the greatest at drawing up proposals, so I won't embarrass myself. What I will leave you with is the players I think will be moved. Chris Stewart, Torrey Mitchell, Marcus Foligno, Henirk Tallinder, Neuvirth and maybe Matt D'Agostini.
