Is a pair of preseason wins grounds for hope?

A shootout win over the Habs and a regulation win over Lumbus makes for a 2-0-0 record in preseason.

Is this a reason for hope or just a sign that the Sabres farm system is slightly better than the Habs and Jackets respective stables of prospects?

The potentially worrying factor comes when we look at who has been putting up the points. Yes it's promising to see the kids scoring but I'd have liked to see more from the veteran production guys on the squad. An argument can be made that CoHo is being tasked to focus on his defense but one would imagine that he would be encourage to ply his offensive talents at the same time. It's what will be expected during the season.

Grigorenko has a shootout tally and an even strength goal in two games

Girgensons has a pair across two games including a short hander.

Foligno has a pair in his only game thus far.
