The Buffalo Sabres have announced - wait, let me start that again.
Mike Weber has announced on his own Twitter feed that he and the Sabres have agreed on a new contract that will keep him in Buffalo for the next three years.
UPDATE: John Vogl is reporting that the contract is for $5 million total, making Weber's cap hit a mere $1.67 million. The real money breakdown is $1.5 million in the first two years, and $2 million in year three.
Weber, an RFA this offseason, broke the news himself, which was later confirmed by his long-time friend/roommate Steve Ott, also on Twitter (note: both accounts have been previously verified by the team). The Sabres confirmed the signing later in the evening.
At his locker clean-out press conference, Weber emphatically stated that the Sabres locker room had lost its accountability, and that they needed to get it back if the team was going to be successful. Now, we'll get the chance to see if he can help do just that.
What do you think, Sabres fans? Happy to see #6 in Buffalo for three more years?
