Kaleta gets the maximum suspension via phone conference for his major penalty on Sunday night.
The NHL announced today that Patrick Kaleta will be suspended for five games for his boarding penalty yesterday against Brad Richards.
In a very well-explained video, the league addresses both sides of the argument, and for once, gets things right. This suspension puts Kaleta out for the Sabres-Rangers rematch next Tuesday. He will be eligible to return against Washington on Sunday, March 17.
Why does that date sound familiar? Oooohhhh Shanahan you crafty devil. Happy St. Patrick's Day, indeed.
