Here is a question just purely for specualtion, conversation, and debate:
If the Buffalo Sabres were to miss the playoffs again, and win the NHL Draft Lottery earning the #1 overall pick to take Seth Jones, Defenseman from the Portland Winterhawks, would you trade Tyler Myers to fill another need, and stockpile prospects and picks? Keep in mind, this team does have Brayden McNabb, in the system as well whom also has loads of ability and potential, and is also physically imposing.
Lets say for a return the Colorado Avalanche are offering you Ryan O'Rielly and Duncan Siemens (their #2 defense prospect in return). Siemens is a big 6'3, physical in your face type player with top 4 potential taken 11th overall in 2011. He's a couple years from being ready.
If you had a different trade in mind just toss it out there.
Here's a brief analysis on Seth Jones from the Hockey News:
" At 6'3", he is already 200 lbs and projects to be a very imposing presence as a first pairing defenseman. Think Chris Pronger and then stop thinking. He will be your shutdown D-man, number one penalty killer, powerplay QB and team captain. You let him play 30 minutes a game and build your team around him."
Tyler has been inconsistent in his career and also struggled so far this season
