Ed Note: The Fan Post has been edited slightly for front page posting.
To do so, I pulled a list of all players who ever wore the Sabres jersey from the 2010-11 season (Pegula bought the team in February of 2011) and then used NHL.com to quickly get summary stats of their most recent games. I limited the search to the past 7 days to keep it fresh, and compiled the results below.
Some of the names on this list are no surprise. Pominville, Vanek, Gaustad and Roy continue to be active in the league. Pommers recently had the game winner over Philly a couple of nights ago. Man, it was great when he used to do that for us.
Sekera and Gerbe have both put up points this week, something that was a bit of a rarity during their most recent time with the Sabres. In fact, both have been having superb years, with Sekera reaching a career high 6 goals for the season by scoring in his last game; he is second on the Canes in points with 14 points (6G, 8A) in 26 games. Gerbe has also found success in his new home, with 11 points (6G, 5A) in 28 games played, good for 4th place in team points.
Kassian appears to still be struggling, at least looking at his number of shift. Boyes seems to be doing better, or at least being trusted with minutes that he never saw when he was stuck here under Lindy Ruff.
Regehr seems to still be doing his thing for the Kings. Notably missing is Leopold, who has been out with a hand injury since early November.
The biggest surprise to me was to see that Paul Byron recently played a single game, and it looks like Chris Butler is still being used heavily in Calgary (I don't keep up much with the Flames).
Has anybody else been keeping tabs on Sabres alumni who are still in the league? Which player do you most wish we still had on the team?
