Well, I am going to put on my tinfoil thinking cap as I just got the NHL alert about the result of John Scott's suspension hearing. 7 games. I watched the video explanation and I cannot understand the rationale for giving a first-time offender this much when other's have gotten less (Stuart) or none (Dubinsky), or even less than a repeat offender (Lapierre, Hanzal, Edler). Say what you will about some wacko conspiracy theory, but I cannot in good conscience say that this is a fair punishment. For those who seem to feel an overweening sense of self-righteousness, "Scott is a pylon, has no place in hockey, etc, ad nasuem," he does play clean and if you have watched him over the last year and a half, has actually improved other facets of his game. I just cannot accept this as a fair assessment. I truly feel that Shanahan and the league office have a vendetta agains our boys. It is astonishing. Listen to the explanations and watch the videos yourself and you will see. I have to think that Regier and co must have a some sort of NDA in place after these hearings otherwise, were I them, I would be shouting to the heavens about the inequities of it all. A travesty.
