If you were thinking that the All-American Prospects game would have turned into a glorified all-star game, you would have been sorely mistaken. With this game, these kids have a serious chance to increase their draft profile and a good performance tonight will go a long way in doing that.
Team McClanahan has the early lead with a Hudson Fasching goal with Ryan Fitzgerald earning the lone assist on the goal. The game started rather slowly with only a handful of shots in the first eight minutes of the game. But as the teams started to feel each other out, the game opened up offensively. The shot totals aren't up yet as both teams only have a total of 10 shots on goal.
For Team Housley, Eamon McAdam has made a couple nice saves including a save on the first two on one breakaway. Through the first twenty minutes, he has made five saves. Center Tyler Kelleher has had a couple nice plays on the doorstep, but just hasn't been able to covert on any of them.
At the opposite end of the ice, Cal Peterson has had a solid game making four saves in the first twenty minutes. Besides the Fasching goal, the offense of Team McClanahan has seemed to have had the better chances. Austin Farley almost had a goal as well as he had a shot that rang off the pipe near the end of the period.
As this game continues, the offense is going to open up more as both teams start to get to know their linemates better.
