With how poorly the season has been going I’m still amazed that we’re only 7 points out. Lets Go Buffalo.
Have an excellent Fastnacht Mr. Ehrhoff
And a most enjoyable Shrove Tuesday, Fat Tuesday, Pankcake Day, Mardi Gras or even Paskzi Day to the DBTB peoples!

That would be hilarious to see.

Yea, you’ll have to search real hard to find a place that actually has the NHL games on. Only a couple places in my area play hockey on request. The rest just stare at you like you’re crazy.

And I think he will, should the Sabres be sellers?

Logic says "I agree"
But this team looks like it could be dangerous if it made the 8th spot.
We could compete in the first round, but I don’t think we can do much beyond that (similar to Philly last year). I mean, they had 3 goalies play in the 1st round series and we could not overcome some key injuries to put them away. We have only drafted in the top 5 once in the last 20 years….wouldn’t you rather sell this year, and acquire an elite prospect than make a run and get stuck drafting in the middle of the first?

If they continue to tank, they could get a top ten pick. But They are playing well enough now that they won’t get a lottery.

I agree.
Part of me just thinks we are not capable of this…that even trading Goose would leave this team with enough talent to not have a record that is one of the five worst in the league. Of course, we could win the draft lottery, but the chance of us doing that in the 5 spot is really low.
"We’re gonna win the Stanley Cup. Then, you know what, we’re gonna win it again,"
-Terry Pegula
Last game and tonight look good...
Though I think this team needs better players to really compete on a year to year basis. We are still tied for last place in the East….we need to sell. For us to make a run at the playoffs at this point in the season would really be a miracle.
"We’re gonna win the Stanley Cup. Then, you know what, we’re gonna win it again,"

They're not going to get a top 5 pick.
Columbus, Carolina and Edmonton will be the top 3. Minnesota is falling fast and hard. The Capitals are playing some of the worst hockey and could very well blow up the team. I think Tampa is going to blow it up. Dallas and Toronto are doing what Toronto does.

Have they been copy and pasting from here or do these appear to be original works?
I fight with psychological warfare, I made her a Sabres fan…
Fascinatingly original
Only more Ovie-centric.
But that's a team that should be high scoring, blowing people out.

I agree with Columbus and Edmonton. Carolina has improved in the new year going 10-5-5… I could see them possibly passing us at some point. As for your other teams, I agree. The only thing that may help us be bad is the amount of away games (14) we have for the rest of the year.

I am certain we should sell expiring contracts, yet I am not certain that doing so would give us a top 5 pick. I do not see Darcy making any blockbuster deals in season…our team has really had a sale since pre-lockout. Really…there are good arguments for both sides as to whether we are too good to be bad, or if our schedule coming up is tough enough for us to fall down in the bottom of the standings. I wish I had an answer…but I really don’t.
"We’re gonna win the Stanley Cup. Then, you know what, we’re gonna win it again,"

The only expiring contracts are
Boyes, Goose and Hecht. One of those guys can’t play. One really can’t play and cutting Goose loose isn’t going to drop this team all that far.

I know this….though selling expiring assets for some value is something we should do since we are having a bad season. I think Goose is a significant contribution defensively to our team and he ranks relatively high on our team in GVT (6th). It is hard to gauge where we will eventually fall; I hope you are wrong and that we can really be bad for a top pick, but I think we are incapable of doing that.
"We’re gonna win the Stanley Cup. Then, you know what, we’re gonna win it again,"
-Terry Pegula
Whether Buyer or Seller be
I’d dump Boyes on the first schmuck who’d take him.
Well we could take back what Boyes makes…long term deals would not be ideal.
"We’re gonna win the Stanley Cup. Then, you know what, we’re gonna win it again,"
-Terry Pegula
But the overall cap will still increase by revenue. We have 56 mil in cap for next year towards a cap that is estimated to move up to 69 mil. Of course this could be decreased by salary rollbacks with the new CBA, but that would effect all older contracts. I really think cap wise we will have some space for next year.
"We’re gonna win the Stanley Cup. Then, you know what, we’re gonna win it again,"

And Hecht's salary drops next year.
To zero. That’s $3.5 gone. I bet Goose’s contract drops a little.

I was looking at the TOI last period on the Sabres new app and saw he was half the rest of the D. Then completely forgot to ask you guys if anyone had heard anything.

Ennis / Gerbe
Does anyone else appreciate the chaos the two of them cause? Even Gerbe’s solo rushs down the left wing cause a Dman to rush back to try to rub him out. It has to b exhausting.
Ennis had played a lot better after he has come back from his second injury. Gerbe is just a spark plug…I love it.
