Goose as a Bear? If you can't beat 'em.....
Short term, I don’t think he makes the Bruins better. He would need players playing well around him to raise his game. He’s certainly not going to raise the level of play around him, IMO. The Bruins would certainly be wise to look at other players before moving on ol’ Goose.
Long term, being on the Bruins would be the end of Gaustad’s career(tongue in cheek). The Bruins play a very physical style that takes a toll on player’s bodies. He would be on the IR – or in the doghouse – a lot, if he tried to meet the expectations they have have for players like him(grinder).
I would be curious to see how Goose as a Bruin turned out, though. He might be a better fit there.
