The beginning of the end?

If you haven't heard already, the owners gave a little bit and made an offer to split hockey related revenue 50 - 50. As Eric Duhatschek of The Globe and Mail rightly points out, we should not count our chickens before they hatch but it's hard not to be a lot more optimistic than anyone was yesterday. I'm not sure how crazy I'd be about a compressed 82 game season but I guess beggars can't be choosers when it comes to these things. We could be seeing meaningful Buffalo Sabres hockey in a matter of weeks. How is everyone feeling about this?

Personally, I'm feeling pretty good, Corey Tropp's injury notwithstanding. During the last lockout I was able to persevere entertainment wise but I was feeling pretty pessimistic about it this time around. I think that if the players really don't like this offer, then we could definitely be here awhile because I don't know how much more the owners will give. Either way we'll know more after 5.
