Sabres Need More From Leopold - WGR 550
With injuries on defense the Sabres need Jordan Leopold and Mike Weber to play bigger roles and eat up minutes. Both made major mistakes in Detroit and both were -4.

Some insight on where a goalie's mental state needs to be, and why Ryan Miller isn't there. Give it a read.

Is it so bad? - Ice and Bites
"But do we REALLY need a shake up at the coaching position? I question whether or not this will get the job done. While I agree that Lindy looks lackadaisical in his coaching role as of now, I think he needs to stay put, but make some changes to his strategy."

I am glad to hear Lindy has seen worse. The spiral the Sabres are in right now is the worst I can remember. Ive given up on the season but I still watch just to see how bad it will actually get before something happens. Maybe this was inevitable. Better sooner than later I suppose.

I'm sorry..

.. but, I agree w/ Ruff.. 2 games under .500 when your franchise goalie has been concussed, plus the pieces that were assembled for this year’s effort can’t even be evaluated due to crippling injuries of every stripe, does not add up to “as bad as things could be”. Monday’s loss? Put in 1 of those 1st period chances and the outcome is completely different. They didn’t bury any chances and they got burned every time they made a mistake. Pretty much every team in the league will lose when that happens.

They need confidence is all, and no trade is gonna bring that now. They need to dig and find it. In the meantime, I am all for Ruff sitting players who aren’t bringing it – trouble is, right now that is the entire team, even Vanek and Pominville, in my view.

i think they need to dump ruff. you cant say hes a good coach when we win and not his fault when we suck.

It would seem misery loves company

Don’t know for sure, but DBTB seems relatively busy these days.

Its always busy once football is over.

As long as 70 minutes of ice time is being doled out to AHLers and Matt Ellis, the Sabres are basically doomed

Slightly off-topic

but I was at the Sabres Road Crew event last night and it was a great turnout and a good event. Danny Gare is a super-nice guy. Fun to meet him and Ruff and Playfair.

That's awesome.

Maybe I will get to see them sometime if I head down to Miami to catch a game.

Strange turn of events!

That I now find myself really happy that the Sabres are on NBCSports/VS tonight.
