Ok Ok, so this will NEVER happen. After all, the NHL continues to run the Winter Classic to make money. Period. However, even though I realize the NHL will never change the format, I would love to suggest what 1 million others have already said: Rotate the cities and teams. I am so annoyed that the NHL has picked some teams to play in multiple Winter Classics. It, in my opinion, be fair to all teams in the league. Every "Cold Weather" city gets a shot against a "Warm Weather" team. Here's a quick rundown of what it could look like (Cold city first):
Buffalo vs Tampa
Pittsburgh vs Dallas
Boston vs New Jersey
Ottawa va Carolina
Minnesota vs St. Louis
Chicago vs Nashville
Winnipeg vs Phoenix (this would be one hell of a scene)
Calgary vs LA
Edmonton vs Florida
Colorado vs Anaheim
Montreal vs Columbus
Philadelphia vs Washington
Toronto vs Vancouver
