How do Sabres fans feel about expanding Sabres University by including an ECHL to the mix.  You could have players such as Nathan Lieuwen and Jonathan Parker on it.  Those players could be called up to Rochester when injuries and call ups occur.  It could be also be used to send Amerks players down to get additional playing time or as a wake up call.  They could either seek an affiliation agreement with a current ECHL team or get involved in an expansion team in let say Utica.  I personally think an ECHL in Utica would be a good fit for everyone involved.
