Great, great news. WGR is reporting a 3 year deal. I know there is a magical thing called google where I can find these things out, but if someone knows w/o my having to look it up: With the trading of Butler and the signing of Gerbe, what RFAs does that leave?

Sekera, Enroth, Gerbe, Weber and Gragani are the most notable ones.

Glad to see Gerbe checked off the list.

From WGR
TSN’s Bob McKenzie reports the cap hit will be $1.433 million per year

Totally fine with that!

Nice contract!

I thought it would be around $1.25 million, so $1.433 million a year isn’t bad at all. I am very excited about his play next season; he improved so much in his last 41 games, I feel like the sky is the limit for Gerbe.

Committing to the #42 jersey this year. Congrats to the FO getting it done and now we can cheer for Gerbe for at least 3 more years…

As Jeremy White said on Twitter

Gerbe will take up just 2.1% of the Sabres salary cap next year – a great value for what he brings.

Awesome news

A good idea for a story may be evaluating the percentage that every player is using of salary cap, then comparing it to how many points he is scoring (or maybe Corsi rating) against the total number that the team has put up. Could use last years stats too

For examle…….Atlas, he has 12% of the cap, and is responsible for 18% of the points (G,A) the team has scored….Those aren’t accurate, but you get an idea..

It could be a weekly thing, find out who is worth the money we are paying them. Although good fans know the difference just by watching them, it still may be interesting. Or it just may be another way to prove how much we hate Connolly and love Gerbe

That is an excellent idea. Duly noted for later this summer.

My favorite line (as a Sabres fan and Buffalo native now living in Rochester): Ted Black: “This isn’t an affiliation, it is a unification”. Awesome. Hopefully things pick up in Rochester. When you have to have $1 beer and hotdogs to get anyone to show up on a Friday night, that’s a bad sign.

Any seat in the house at 10.00 is pretty good. Too bad Teddy Nolan won’t be able to stick around. Ha!

For those prices, I bet he can afford seats!

I'm an instant replay of you

Bufflao native, Rochester resident. Things WILL pick up in Rochester and I can’t wait to be a part of it.

I feel bad for you b/c the original isn’t anything to write home about!

Yayyyyyyyy

Yayyyyyyyyy!!!! Woo Hoo!

The tiny terror! The Gerbe baby! Wooohooo!!!!

I love watching the little guy just demolish people. So awesome. Maybe even better than when fat guys score touchdowns in football.

Glad to have you on the team Nathan Gerbe.

If you took Gerbe’s years salary in 100 dollar bills and stacked them up, it would be as tall as he is.. So Gerbe… is worth his height in dollars.

Actually...

1.433Mil dollars stacked up is 5’8" tall. So it’s a bit taller..

NERD!!!!!

Seriously, did you actually google that?

Or, did you just stack 1.433 million dollars?

Gerbe is the best player on the planet.
