I hope it happens: Buffalo-Rochester was one of the great farm systems in the league and there was a definite advantage to keeping the rookies 90 minutes away from the arena. Let's hope he closes the deal.
And just for fun - how much do you think an AHL team costs? I really have no idea, but given that NHL teams are in the $150M range, I'd guess that it couldn't be much more than 5-10% of that (say, $5-15M?) I wonder if they're any kind of a good investment.
