Sabres Recap: Buffalo 2 @ Carolina 1 (OT)

Following their OT loss in Washington last night, and Carolina’s big road win over the Islanders, Sunday’s game between the Sabres and Canes promised to be an intense, playoff-like atmosphere. Now with Carolina within just two points of them, the Sabres would need to play a more defensive style of play than the run-and-gun affair they played with the Capitals last night. Jhonas Enroth was back in net for the Sabres to face Cam Ward for the Hurricanes. A tight-checking opening to the game saw the two teams give up few scoring chances. Carolina had just one shot through the first nine minutes of play.
