There is nothing quite like that first National Hockey League marker and the routine that accompanies it: scooping up the puck, writing a player's name on a piece of tape, and attaching said tape to the disc. Marc-Andre Gragnani could be forgiven for skipping this tradition, as he negotiated the biggest moment of his career and at the same time, perhaps the hugest goal of the 2011 campaign for the Buffalo Sabres.
Renowned for his passing more than his trigger finger, the 24-year-old just floated it towards the net. Tim Gleason looked to have made the final touch and Cam Ward could not be blamed. With a dozen games of experience, Marc-Andre Gragnani hasn't wasted any time in making a name for himself.
