With Ryan Miller still at home, listed as day-to-day while nursing an upper body injury (reported to be a deep bone bruise on his shoulder/chest, and that his head and collarbone are both fine), the Sabres again turned to Jhonas Enroth, coming off his first career shutout, to try and shut down the likes of Alex Ovechkin, Nicklas Backstrom and the rest of the high-flying Capitals. To counter him in goal, the Capitals stated Michael Neuvirth, who was looking for his 26th win of the season. Enroth’s shutout streak would not last much longer, as just 37 seconds in, Tyler Myers got caught up ice and John Carlson and Mike Knuble broke in 2-on-1 on Chris Butler. While Enroth was able to stop the first bid from Carlson, Butler failed to tie up Knuble and he put home the rebound for his 22nd of the season and an early 1-0 lead... [continued]
