poll on Tim
Should the Sabres have traded Tim Connolly at the trade dead line? I think yes. Tim Connolly is the worst hockey player on the team. He can never finnish he has so many chances but never finnish's! He also has had two major injuries. If he gets injured again he is done for his career. If he is done then we get nothing from him. I want to know your opinion about Tim Connolly.

Voted no.
Hecht can not be our #1 C
Connolly is more valuable to our playoff push than a 2nd/3rd round draft pick we could have got.
Career ending injuries can happen to any player, on any night. Ill take my chances with him.
Lets Go Buff a lo!!!
bflo said it best. Hecht cannot be our #1 center. Because, when Hecht is our #1 center, that makes (YIKES!) Gaustad our NUMBER 2 center (throws up in mouth). Hecht isn’t even supposed to be playing center. He is there because Roy is injured. So, Darcy had no choice but to keep Timmy, much to the chagrin of many (or at least me).
And, as much as I hate to admit it, Tim is clearly NOT the worst hockey player on the team. How do you even break that down, to figure out who is? He has so many chances but never “finnish’s”? Perhaps he’s Swedish, and we aren’t aware of it.
Seriously, though, Hecht gets more shots on goal than Connolly BY FAR, EVERY YEAR, and he doesn’t finish either. Niederdonut, Grier, Gaustad, and Kaleta ALL have hands of stone. A case could be made for one of those guys being the “worst” on the team, too.
I'd say Butler or McCormick are the worst players on the team.
Which is’t to say the Butler will never get better or McCormick doesn’t do anything well, just that whole package, they probably do the least to contribute to winning hockey.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
You ruin your whole poll by describing Connolly as the worst player on the team.
And I hate to break it to you but every player in the NHL is one injury away from their career being over. The fact that Tim is still playing after those injuries and another this year obviously means he has no heart and should have been traded for a ham sandwich.
If he is done then we get nothing from him.
So what? Why do Sabres fans always have to get something back? Free agents and injured players leave teams every single year. What did the Penguins get for Marian Hossa? What did the Red Wings get for Marian Hossa? You know what you “got” from Connolly? A player who when healthy, up until this year, was just as good as Danny Briere but for much cheaper.
Briere played in 225 games for Buffalo, and registered 230 points.
Connolly has “played” in 445 games for Buffalo, and registered 305 points.
Now double Briere’s games played to 450, which is almost exactly that of Tim’s, and then pro rate his points, which would equal 460, and your statement is way off.
He was NOT “just as good as Danny Briere”, even taking this year out of equation.
And I won’t even mention the difference in the “heart and soul” factor between these 2 players, because I always get lambasted on here for speaking my mind about the Tin Man.
Timmy didn’t have anywhere near the impact that Danny had, period.
He’s talking post 2007. In the years after the 7-1-07, Tim and Danny were equal in terms of production.

the Pens got a cup for Hossa
It seems like Uncle Jesse and Cooter have a plan. I wish Waylon Jennings was still around to be narrator.
They traded him? He was a free agent and signed in Detroit I thought…
