WIth Terry Pegula set to take over as owner of the Sabres on Febuary 22nd just in time for the trade deadline on Febuary 28th, should he make a big move right away and grab the best player "said" to be on the trade market in Brad Richards?
Richards is in the last year of his contract in Dallas making 7.8million this year and most likely looking for a raise in his next contract has been rumored to be on the trading block, however will Dallas choose to trade there best player while in the middle of playoff contention?
If Dallas does choose to keep Richards then there is always the Free agents period to make a push for him. The Sabres have been in desperate need of a star center to play with Vanek ever since the departure of Daniel Briere. Star centers are few and far between and if Dallas chooses to let Richards go via a trade or Free Agency. He is 30 years old, but a #1 center is arguably the most important piece of any franchise and is there any other players with his skills available to turn this team in the right direction?
