VIDEO: Tyler Myers Picks His Spot In Overtime
Forcing the issue shorthanded, Tyler Myers stole the puck in the second period and a partial break-away awaited him. With the cross bar's assistance, Tomas Vokoun won the battle and the Florida Panthers went the other way to even the match up. But late in overtime, Myers would win the war for the Buffalo Sabres on a coast-to-coast rush.
That adds up to five game-winners and counting for the sophomore, and another win, which allows the Buffalo Sabres to creep within two points of the Carolina Hurricanes.

Sophomore slumps
Although Myers was not playing well earlier in the season, I really think he’s come around. He’s still a very good offensive defenseman; just a little overshadowed in the lineup by Jordan Leopold. Kid’ll be phenomenal if he keeps developing the way he has.
When Myers takes the puck and gets a full head of steam heading down the ice, it’s awesome to watch. Hopefully games like this will give him the confidence to be more assertive. If he ever reaches his potential he’ll be able to single-handedly dominate games.
