Honestly, I'm ok with this.
He could have gotten more for how blatant it was.
Enjoys long walks on the beach, Molson Canadian, and making the playoffs.
Expected 1-2 games
It was a reckless play, even if accidental.
Definitely wanted to see some discipline for Bourdon’s hit on Gerbe as well, though.
this is bs
When taking into account other suspensions and non-suspensions against buffalo opponents.
As far as I’m concerned, shanahan can go f@(& himself.

OK, lemme see if I've got this straight . . .
Leino elbows Read, who stays in the game, gets a one game sit.
Kaleta head-butts Voracek, who stays in the game, gets a two game sit.
Lucic runs Miller, who gets a concussion and misses almost a month, gets . . . nothing.
NHL discipline: changes like the weather . . .
.

You forgot the following:
Bourdon blatantly boards Gerbe, who gets a concussion and is out indefinitely, and gets nothing (2 minutes).
(Lucic also got 2 minutes; but it hardly matters because you can get 2 minutes for nonviolent petty stuff like delay of game)
On the flip side, Tootoo runs Miller, who stays in the game (this time), and gets 5 minutes plus game misconduct plus 2 games.
Spin, spin, spin the wheel.
Also forgot to mention that Matt Ellis gets 2 minutes plus a 10-minute misconduct for standing up to Bourdon after Gerbe collapsed with a concussion. So the Sabres lose two players for 10 minutes and one indefinitely, and receive no power play whatsoever for the hit. It’s not just Shanahan, the rules (particularly the instigator rule) need some tweaking.
