Buffalo's Kaleta faces disciplinary hearing Thursday - NHL.com - News
It looks like Patrick Kaleta got in trouble last night. I didn't see this happen in the broadcast but I don't doubt for a second that it happened.

I did, and i was surprised it didn’t get called. It was more of a bull rush really, but it was easily a roughing penalty.
Mike Weber Pressbox Incarceration Status: FREED. The league is doomed.
"Had miller played the rest of the game facing that many shots, he’d have ended up with 120 shots against"
Just seen the video. It didn’t look like much to me. If that gets more than a game for being reckless and aggressive I would be surprised. If I was the league, I would be much more upset over an intentional slash to the back of the leg. That was clearly intentionally dirty.

"Lets Go Buff! a! lo!"
They have the video in the yahoo article, but it’s pretty lousy quality. Hard to tell the point of contact on that one, at least how it’s displaying for me. It looks like a pretty aggressive charge into a guy, but if the head gets hit first, and they don’t see a move by the other player’s head right before contact they consider it targeting.
Head was not the principle point of contact (don't think Kaleta made contact with it at all)
nor did it seem like it was the intended point of contact. It was a little late, but that’s it. I could see a maybe a slap on the wrist fine, but anything more is just Shanahan being overprotective.
Save Jenrry Mejia!
I think I saw it too but....
They should be calling Giroux in as well for his chickensh!t slash to the back of Roy’s leg/knee.
Go Sabres!
Another head butt by kaleta.. Uggh

After seeing this video of it I’m expecting a suspension and I have to admit he deserve it – especially as he’s done this before. You can go on all you want about missed calls and past injustices and whatever, but you’ve got to judge this offense on its own merits. He will probably be judged more harshly than someone who’s also offended but always wriggled out of discipline, but that just means the system is shitty. That doesn’t mean the solution is to give him a pass like there’s some sort of karmic balance sheet.
Apologies, the link refuses to post for me
I’ll see if I can figure it out or find the video somewhere else.
I think most people agree with you that Kaleta deserves supplemental discipline, we just wish that other, more obvious, offenses would warrant the same level of scrutiny and due discipline. I think players like Kaleta are under a microscope for this kind of thing, but the dangers are just as real from players who continually get the benefit of the doubt, which is especially infuriating when their particular offenses are often more dangerous and more obvious, yet go ignored. While I agree that it is unrelated to the outcome of Kaleta’s disciplinary hearing, I do think the attention on Kaleta fuels the frustration that there isn’t also attention on other, more egregious offenses.
4 games
might seem a bit steep but this is a repeat offender and that was a really dumb play. Kaleta should know better at this point in his career that he has a microscope on him at all times because of how he chooses to play the game. unlike Marco sturm or claude giroux, he’s not going to get away with careless plays like that. I’m not saying I agree but unfortunately that’s just how the league works.
That could be a good guess. With Hecht on IR we have the cap space to do such a thing…and I wouldn’t mind seeing him play in the NHL for a few games.

I think it is the opposite. He was still on the Sabres roster because he was injured. I think he is healthy now which allows him to go to Rochester.
