New Sabres Uniforms?

I know that the Sabes are FINALLY going to back to the original logo (one of the greatest logos in the history of sports if you ask me) but when are they going to make an official announcement? Granted its only August but as soon as September rolls around you can start to smell the hockey in the air so I would image the Sabres need to make some sort of an announcement soon. My only thought is that maybe they are concerned about a potential PR issue being that they just changed logo/jerseys a few years back. I know everyone is in favor of the change back to the OG Sabres logo but maybe the organization is concerned that some people might raise hell due to the fact that merchandise is expensive (especially jerseys) and this city is not exactly an economic powerhouse.

I seem to remember when they unveiled the slug it was during an open practice at HSBC. I can’t remember what they did for the move to the black and red though.

I remember seeing that unveiling live on the Empire Sports Network...

Though I was only 9 when that happened. I do remember they interviewed Rob Ray about the new uniforms, and he said that he liked them, especially the black because they made him look more intimidating. Other then that, they were basically showing off the new jerseys along with the new HSBC Arena, since I think that was the reason why they had changed.

remember that as well now that you mention it. I think Empire used to show NHL Cool Shots (I think that was the name of the show from the 90s???) on Saturday mornings and I believe they had a segment about the new Sabres gear at the time.

Does your name refer to the Cornell Big Red? Anyways, The Slug is very wierd looking, and the old logos are much better.

Not a Fan of the 3rd

Maybe it’s just me, but I really do not care for the 3rd jersey… I can’t tell if the print makes it too busy or if the lack of an actual image makes it too boring, maybe it’s both. They have to be able to come up with something better than that, right? I love the original logo.

Haha remember when Sabres.com was going to unvale the slug hour by hour on their site. Then they F’ed up and it was clear as day. Not really the topic but Im so glad the slugs dead.

I’m a big fan of the new home and away jerseys, they look sharp. And we won’t get laughed off the ice (as often).

But I actually kinda do like that concept of the third jersey. Even though all we know is that it’ll have Buffalo in a baseball script and the logo in the tail of the lettering, I’m looking forward to it. At the very least, it’s something different. Our 3rd couldn’t possibly be any worse than the Lightning or Senators 3rds.

I support the move to the original logos

but I wish they would keep the “Buffa-slug” dark as a third instead of some baseball script or wordmark.

My friend who is a Rangers fan said that the old red and black logos would look amazing in Blue and Gold. I agree, what do you guys think? that would be a neat third.
