Buffalo Sabres Sign Matt Ellis To One Year Contract
Forward Matt Ellis has signed a one-year contract with contract details yet to be announced. Ellis had 3 goals and 13 points while playing in 72 games last season.
One would assume that this deal is a two-way deal, but we honestly can't confirm that at the moment. It would be a curious decision if the deal was one-way with all of the talk that Darcy has made this offseason about giving some players a chance, see Tyler Ennis and Nathan Gerbe. On a two-way contract, Ellis would be a great depth player in Portland and someone that could fill in easily if injuries occured.

According to the highly reliable CapGeek, it’s a two-way deal – http://twitter.com/capgeek/status/22675149119
Nice signing by the team – Ellis makes a great short-term call-up.
