Bring Back Jay McKee
Forget about Sekera, Butler, Weber rotation...sign McKee as the 6th DMan...with him and Morrisonn the Sabres would have two of the best shot blockers in the game. It would be a big help to Miller, and if he is too fragile/sucks, we have the aforementioned players to step in and at least two of them will likely see time anyway with the long NHL grind and Rivets uncertain status to start the season...I know this is not a new idea, but heres a vote for bringing back Jay...

That would be great
But it’s not gonna happen. Even if he accepted the league minimum, I don’t think Darcy would do this. This regime has no heart. Look at what they did to Kennedy. I like Jay don’t get me wrong. If I was GM he would have never left.
Yeah if I were GM I would have never had let him go back then too… but at this point… look at our D. Jay McKee 5 years ago, yes he would make this team… not now… unless injuries happen.
Where else would you rather be?
Why don’t we bring back Jim Schoenfeld while were at it.
I just don’t understand why people want to bring back players that used to play for us. McKee is not what he used to be. All the shot blocking has really taken a toll on him. As much as I liked McKee when he was a Sabre, I don’t see why they should bring him back.
The decision to let Kennedy go was a SMART BUSINESS DECISION. I’m so sick of people bashing the management over this. If TK wasn’t a local boy, very few people would even bat an eye at letting go an over paid 3rd liner who wasn’t even a guarantee to make the roster.

Exactly. Him getting thrown around by Recchi last year in the playoffs was a major disappointment to me… but because hes a Buffalo kid everyone made excuses for him. Obviously one play cant make or break a player… but that was such a huge play… and it seemed that people gave him a pass because of where he was born. Sure I wish he was an awesome player that came up from Buffalo… but hes not… hes a fringe NHL player from Buffalo.

What exactly did they do to Kennedy?
If they did him dirty shouldn’t he be playing out his $1m/year contract with an NHL team right now instead of hoping and praying that someone gives him a tryout.

Why do Sabres fans spend so much time living in the past?

I’m begining to think the educated, logical sports fan is a dieing breed.

You can use Dying or Dieing. Both are correct. The more common one is Dying though. Just like with “Unrepairable” and “irreparable.”

Since when?
The only proper way to spell dying is dying. And unrepairable and irreparable are two different words that just mean the same thing, that isn’t even close to being the same situation.

In all the English, Writing, Journalism, etc classes I’ve taken I was never corrected in the spelling of it. Not to mention that my auto spell checkers have never knocked it out. I did a couple quick searches on the internet and I’m wrong and I’m not afraid to admit it. Dieing has to do with a Die (the tool). I’m sorry oh lords of grammar.

Haha
I see, so throwing out an opinion on a player signing for a guy who would be close to the last man on the bench is an uneducated and illogical stance…from the guy who wants to see more of Drew Stafford because “he is a highlight reel guy on occasion”…yeah ok, why dont you keep your arrogance in Florida and go root for one of those storied franchises…the rest of the illogical, uneducated lot can just hope to one day learn from your wisdom…
Blah blah blah. I want to see more of Drew Stafford because he’s going to be 25 years old and still has an upside that we haven’t seen all of yet. I’m not a fan that starts screaming for the head of a player/coach/gm just because I dislike the current outcome. If you do remember most Sabres fans were clambering to have Stafford resigned at the end of the 08-09 season. He has one bad season and most are calling for his head.
My comment about the educated and logical sports fan was more directed at the comment about management having no heart because they didn’t bring back TK. But if you want it to be personal go right ahead. Jay McKee isn’t the answer for this team and neither is bringing back any other former Sabre (insert TK or Biron here.) How bout we move forward as a fan base.

Myers, Montador, Sekera, Morrison, Rivet, Weber, Butler, Leopold.
I wouldnt want McKee over any of them. Thats 8 NHL ready defenceman… where would McKee fit in? Maybe if he signed a 2 way contract and played all year in Portland… but theres no way in hell he does that.
Where else would you rather be?
This is absurd
Jay McKee didn’t earn the money that St Louis shelled out for him on that contract when “we should have kept him”. I haven’t missed Jay McKee once since he left. Jay McKee is old and slow and cannot hang in the NHL anymore, IMO. I would rather see Weber or Gragnani so we can at least see the future or give a young guy a chance. Stop waxing nostalgic about Sabres that are past their usefulness to us. If Jay McKee was such an asset why is he jobless like TK? I bet you’re one of those “bring back Biron” guys too? Or still on the Briere and Drury bandwagon?
Fear the Grier!!!!
McKee
Well to me the Kennedy move and a McKee move have nothing to do with one another…You all want to jump all over the fact he was a former Sabre, but really I am talking about shot blocking and leadership…who else is an FA who carries these two assets? I would enjoy seeing Morrisonn and McKee work together…thats really all i am saying…
