Bring Back Mair

Are there contract talks going on with Adam Mair? We need to sign him back, he ads a lot of grit to the team, as well as playing with a lot of heart.

Star-divide

Last year he didn't score that much, so maybe he would come cheaper? I don't really know that much about how they work stuff like that, but does anyone else know? What do you people think, do you want Mair back or not?

I’d rather bring up a kid from Portland than return Mair.

no room

If you assume the RFA’s will be back (Kennedy and Kaleta) and you count Ennis and Gerbe the Sabres already have 14 fwds. The only way Mair or Ellis come back is if there’s a lopsided trade or if they agree to start in Portland.

Considering that he was waived last year and we signed Niedermayer, there is no chance in bringing him back. Could stay on as a veteran player in Portland though?

Yeah there is no need to bring back mair, i think we should get kassain signed and have him up with the sabres, he is basically a better scoring younger version of mair (plus he’s bigger)

To Mair

Its been real, its been fun.

But it aint been real fun.

Your play with heart and its to be commended.

i agree with Zack, he would be a good player to have in Portland to get these young little guys ready for a tougher NHL style perhaps.

And we wont see Kassain this year. Maybe next.

loved me some mair

but his time has come and gone. played his role perfectly but he is just not good enough anymore to warrant a spot on this team. Cuold be an emergency fill in for a lesser squad though.

You must be trying to give me a heart attack. I’ve been waiting for the past two seasons for Mair to be off the team – aside from his cool nickname, he brings nothing to the team that a younger, cheaper, less-annoying-penalty-taking player couldn’t.

“We need to sign him back, " did not mean to leave that there, but that was how i was kinda gonna do it, then i decided to make it a question rather than an opinion, but left that in. OOPS

I’m surprised the poll isn’t more one-sided than it currently is.

I like Mair, but his value to the Sabres is less than the value of his roster spot. If no one else wants him, maybe he will agree to play in Portland and serve as an emergency call-up.

Cody McCormick

Pretty sure Mair should’ve looked for other employment opportunities when he saw that signing

Yep. The writing was on the wall. I will miss him tracking down Rutuu in between locker rooms though. I love that clip on youtube.

As cool as that was it’s still not as cool as Jim Schoenfeld yelling at Don Koharski.

“Good, ’cause you fell you fat pig. Have another doughnut.”

I know he wasn’t with the Sabres when he said it but it’s Jim Schoenfeld it still counts. .
