Sabres Raise Ticket Prices 5%

http://www.buffalonews.com/2010/05/18/1054367/sabres-raise-season-tickets-5.html

Expected? Probably.

Still a general bargain based on ticket prices around the league? Yes.

Something they should have done based on the market? I don't know.

Regardless, I don't understand why people get so bent out of shape (see the comments) over this. Prices increase with inflation, even if our salaries don't. And they'll still pack the house...

Yeah its not like Im “pro-raise ticket prices” but I understand why they do it. People (Buffalonews commentors) need to relax a little bit.

Why make such a fuss over 5% when the ticket prices are still so low around the board? I think it’s a smart move by the Sabres, make a bit more money without killing the fanbase TOO much with higher prices…

Its still 1/10th the price of the next closest NHL arena. Of course, i’ll admit that’s not a fair comparison… :)

Not even the Toronto Maple Leafs could kill my optimism

There’s a reason half of Toronto drives down to Buffalo when the Leafs play the Sabres!

It’s not quite 1/10th… but 1/5th is probably about right.

Step away from the ledge

Some people you just can’t please. The sentiment (not here) but around town is that this is absurd because of the economic climate. How can the Sabres be expected to spend more money on their lineup without earning more money? You can’t have it both ways always. If we want the Sabres to go for it, then we have to go for it too as fans and be willing to pay more to see more.
