Vanek Game-time Decision - WGR 550 SportsRadio - Home of the Buffalo Sabres
Thomas Vanek made it through the morning skate with nary a sign of injury. He played a shiny at the end of practice and scored the game winning goal. I'll keep this updated if any new information comes out through the afternoon.

I’ve never been so glad that you were wrong.
There is no change for Thomas Vanek and no chance he sees the ice in this series IMO. Vanek suffered a pretty severe ankle injury and would be ineffective if inserted in the lineup too early.
You had me really worried there!

I hope I’m wrong. When I heard high ankle sprain I immediately thought 4-6 weeks minimum. If he was on the ice today, I don’t think it was a high ankle sprain.
