Thomas Vanek Doubtful For Game 3 In Boston

Stay connected for news and updates

Tragedy can often rule in the city of Buffalo. This is a club accustomed to terrible occurrences, often in the most unlikely of fashions. Thomas Vanek is expected to miss game three against the Boston Bruins with a high ankle sprain, joining Jochen Hecht and Drew Stafford among the injured ranks.

If there's one positive, it's that Vanek has confirmed a possible return to finish out the series and Stafford will undergo tests today to determine his status for tomorrow's match. The Austrian scored a goal in game one and assisted on another Saturday prior to the incident. Although these injuries hurt the Sabres, they boast plenty of depth on the roster and are capable of managing onward.

Actions speak louder than words. They will have to prove it.
