So I’ve watched that Tyler Myers hit on Boychuk a lot now. Boychuk said:

I didn’t see him coming, I didn’t have the puck and I felt like it was a shot to the head, I guess, then they called it the freakin’ hit of the night in the arena with the fans going crazy. He was coming right at my head.

[He hit] me right on the side of the jaw. I guess they’re letting that go now.

First of all, this guy chose the wrong sport. I would be embarrassed if he played for the Sabres and was whining like that. But beyond that, he says that he didn’t have the puck but from what I can tell he either did have the puck or was within a couple feet of it. He also said the hit was to his jaw but the replays pretty clearly show that Myers hit him in the shoulder first. But whatever, whine away Bruins fans.

I think they’re just hoping for a suspension more to get Myers off the ice than for any “justice” on a questionable hit.

I agree. But to me the worst part of that article is that they suggest that Myers went after Boychuk because he’s so valuable to the Bruins. Like it should come as no surprise that the Sabres are head hunting the Bruins top players. Give me a break.

In fact, the Bruins are just trying to get the Sabres top players off the ice so they stand a small chance in this series.
