I hate the slug, but let me ask this question:

How would you feel if they lifted the Cup with the slug logo on? Has any team in any sport ever changed their uni after a championship, specifically the first of any kind in their city?

Im pretty sure that Galisano and Co. said they would wear their 3rd (Old school look) in the finals if they got there instead of the slugs. I know they said this the year we swtiched to the slug, I would imagine same rules apply now.

Still doesn’t apply to an away game though. There is no white version of the old school look as of yet.

if true I am stoked that we are going back to a closer semblance of the old jersey’s…would be interested to see what the white one looks like though…oh and the slug is definitely overdue for death

It’s awesome that they’re officially going with the throwback logo full-time. I’ve heard rumors over the past season or two, but I always took them with a grain of salt.

The slug was only around for four seasons (‘06/’07-‘09/’10). Does anyone know if that is a record? What other short-lived logos have there been?

Coyotes original logo – 6 years.
BJ’s original – 5.
Kings last logo lasted only 4.
Leafs had one that was 3.
Caps had back to back 7 and then 4 year logos.

And the winner is the lasting only 2 seasons Fishsticks.
