Anyone going to/been to RBC Center (Carolina)?

I'm heading to the Carolina game on Sunday with the gf and my cousin. Just wondering what people's impressions are of the arena, fans, the city of Raleigh, etc. Any recommendations on good bars, places where Sabres fans hang out, etc.? My cousin (Buffalo native that now lives in NC) recommended the Flying Saucer, which apparently has a multitude of beers.

How is the Buffalo crowd down there? It seems that the Sabres draw a pretty decent crowd whenever they visit the Southeast division (with the exception of the Caps now).

And just for laughs, if you see a couple wearing a throwback Hecht jersey and a goat Hasek, it's probably us.

I live literally 5 min from RBC

Durring the Sabres/Canes games its always 50/50. There are a ton of Bills/Sabres fans down here. I HATE Canes fans….probably some of the biggest ban wagon fans out there. Once the city hears the words “PLayoffs” – everyone brings out their canes flag thats been hidden for 8 months. It pisses me off, but GO BUFFALO

Yeah, I can believe it about the bandwagon fans there. I’m sure 2006 was especially unpleasant if you were living there then. On the plus side, the bandwagoning benefits visiting fans. Picked up fourth row tickets for about $90 each, including all of StubHub’s surcharges.

Canes fans...

…are horrible. Just look at their game thread whenever theres a Sabres vs Canes game. Nothing but the most evil, ignorant s**t being posted about Buffalo.

Lived in NC for about a year before getting the hell out of there. Too hot, moisture creates mold all over the place, the unemployment rate was one of the worst in the country this past year, nobody knows how to make proper Buffalo Wings, Canes fans being jerks 24/7, lack of decent jobs…. and on and on.

I went to an ECF game at the RBC. It was almost 50% visiting team’s fans. Canes fans attitudes were absolutely disgusting there, tons of taunting. I’m glad I dont live there any more.

Canes

I can tell that their fans are bandwagoners…..it’s completely obvious. I still think that they are the least deserving team EVER to hoist Lord Stanley’s Cup. If we hadn’t lost so many blue-liners, we would have been on to the Finals. I will always be bitter about this, and I will always hate the Canes and their fans!!!
