Can I ask you guys a quick question?

What’s the deal with your alternate captaincy? The official roster only lists a captain, no alternates.

by Ryan Classic on Mar 16, 2010 7:09 PM EDT reply actions

They alternate it home and away. I honestly have no idea who gets it when.

Do you know off the top of your head who they are?

The only other team that lists no alternates at all is Philadelphia. Boston only lists one. Everyone else has minimum two.

It sounds like the old captain rotation system but applied to the A instead of the C.

I wonder which “Ruff” shows up in the intermission – the hell hath no fury coach, or the one that’s eased off with the verbal machete.

Does Buffalo Win More Than One Game in the Playoffs?

Even with a few wins as of late this team just does not seem to stack up to any opponent like they were in the beginning of the season. Is it a lack of confidence? Is Ruff’s philosophy fallen on deaf ears? How do you come out like this three games in a row?

With Buffalo’s play now and before the the Olympic break I do not see Buffalo winning any more than one maybe two games in the playoffs. Especially if we get matched up with our Kryptonite, Ottawa. Am I just being outlandish, or are my concerns grounded?

Honestly I dislike Rivet more than those to, Lalime would be second and Monty is in the top 5. I just do not think Rivet is the leadership the Sabres need from the captain. Maybe it’s because I’m not in the locker room but I just don’t see the leadership on the ice. Drury, Barnes, Peca, etc.. Rivet doesn’t even come close to our past captains.

Tyler Myers

Is Tyler Myers he real deal? He sure seems like it, but I remember saying the same things about Sekera, Butler, and Weber. Is Myers only going to be a flash in the pan this season, or will he be solid for years to come. Butler currently cannot break through the starting lineup over the fleet of foot Montador. Sekera has his issues, and Weber can’t even get out of Portland. Just some thinking I’ve been doing.

My only concern is that we have all become high on these young defensemen in the past and they’re not exactly where we would hope they would be currently. Does that directly relate back to coaching?

I dont remember being this high on a rookie player on the Sabres since Ive been alive… He seems special.

uggh.. i hate their horn so much. Why is it necessary to blow it for the number of goals they have? To remind the people in attendance that fell asleep what the score is?

It can go off the glove as long as he doesn’t push it with his hand. Looked like the hand was on the stick and a good goal.
