Biega

I swear I will start rooting for him once he is in the Blue & Gold. However, for as long as he dons the Crimson, I hate him, and his two brothers (who also play for Harvard) :P

I was at the elimination game, which was a well-fought battle. A soft call against Cornell (IMHO) – and I think the only call against them – led to a strong kill and a MAJOR momentum swing. This has always been a heated rivalry, so to see them 3x at home this year was really fun. First time Cornell has beaten them 4 times in a season!

The NHL, Bettman

are liking the fact that the “fine print” didn’t read “43 consecutive games…”

Now they don’t have to suspend their superstar. I like Ovi for the most part. He plays a passionate game every night, and with a lot more dignity than some people. But they need to start making him accountable for his actions, as his passion many times borders on recklessness, and someone is bound to end up hurt. I’m glad Soupy is okay.

He actually doesn't play with passion every game.

He used to but not any more, not even close. World’s biggest stage? Playing in the gold medal game that wasn’t a gold medal game against Canada? Trying to guarantee that NHLers will play in Sochi? He might as a well have been Miro Satan, on an off night. He was basically a no-show (like most of the Russians) for the whole tournament.

Last game against the Sabres? I was there, Ovechkin wasn’t. He was so disinterested and out of it that Sabres fans would have been calling for him to be cut immediately if his name was Pominville or Roy. His backchecking, when he even bothered, was atrocious. He tried some fancy move nearly every time he had the puck in the offensive end and it always went nowhere. When Kaleta drilled him I turned to Kevin from BfloBlog and said he’s done for the game and he was.

I think the hype and “can do no wrong” attitude/fandom is finally going to his head. He’s still the most talented player in the NHL but he’s no longer got that chip on his shoulder.

Campbell gone for season

That’s according to NHL.com.

If Colin Campbell doesn’t lay the hammer down HARD on Ovechkin, particularly considering his already well-established conduct as a headhunter, then any credibility the league has about wanting to crack down on headhunting immediately evaporates. It makes what happened in the GM meeting last week a deliberate snow-job by the league on the GMs and the fans.

If AO gets anything less than five games, the GMs should demand Colin Campbell’s removal…however that would take a level of political courage they do not possess.

Oops

I guess I didn’t realize he was out for that long. My fault for not double checking. I’d honestly be surprised if he gets more than 2 games. Not because that punishment fits the crime, but because…well…you know…

again...

didn’t check first…

But this time I’m right…only 2 games.

Pathetic, “Coli”…pathetic

He’s out for the regular season, i heard, not the whole season.
