More than 2 points on the line tonight… This team needs a win in the worst way. And it would be great if it was a game that we win while scoring maybe 5 goals. I would take a 5-2 win right now in the worst way.
Rask has played pretty well against us this year. Hopefully we can figure him out early.

he took advantage of the few chances he had. Most players on the Sabres didn’t/don’t convert at a rate as proficient as Paille did.
D.O.

His ice time was down as well
He averaged over 13 and half minutes per game in 07-08 and just under 12 minutes per game last season. I haven’t followed him much in Boston so I can’t speak on his play this year but Cornelius seems to like him.
His ice time was exactly what I meant when I said he didn’t get a chance here.

His role was replaced by Kaleta. I’d consider that a definate upgrade if he’s stop getting his neck hurt.
Not even the Toronto Maple Leafs could kill my optimism
Kaleta is a fourth line player while I consider Paille more of a third line checking winger that can contribute offensively.

And his points this year are half that of MacArthur’s and very similar to Kaletas’s. So if Paille can contribute offensively, so can Kaleta.

Come on
do you really think Gaustad cares about the Olympics? Tell yourself whatever you need to in order to justify your big guy giving a cheap shot and not responding when he was challenged.
D.O.
www.diebytheblade.com - An SB nation destination for Sabres fans everywhere
O ya that big vicious cheap shot by Chara lol…just kidding guys hows everything going over here at Die By the Blade? In all fairness the cross check was just something that happens during the game…and think about it from both sides. First I think the rule is match penalty and possible suspension. Second, say he did drop the gloves Chara’s splint is hard, so say he hit Gaustad in the eye with it, it could cause serious eye injury. I’m sure Chara wouldn’t want to risk possibly messing up Gaustad’s vision and career from scratching his retina with the splint….just something to think about
by Dangles-McDonnybrook on Feb 9, 2010 8:46 PM EST up reply actions
Point taken
If that is the case though than Chara shouldn’t be getting his stick involved after the play. He goaded Gaustad into dropping the gloves after he was challenged and then he skated away. If he CAN’T fight he should have skated away originally instead of engaging Gaustad.
D.O.

I'm more bitter about the power play
Gaustad was mugged from behind (and rightfully so) and no penalty was called. I only got into the Chara battle because it was brought up by someone else. If the penalties were called properly I could care less.

I can’t wait to keep Chara out of the Olympics that I’m not playing in .

First post on the GT – apologies. But I have to ask….
Are you REALLY saying that Chara didn’t do anything that about 50% of the NHL would have gotten 2 minutes for?
Gaustad defended himself. And properly got called for taking the retaliatory shot. But come on dude, Chara wasn’t playing cleanly there. His reputation and experience is the only thing that kept him out of the box there. Let’s be objective fans here.

Weird.
I’ve never understood that. I wouldn’t want to come out an explicitly say it’s ok but I would just never bring it up. The links drive extra traffic to the sites. Everyone watching online is going to be in a game thread.
The way they word it is. If we have knowledge of an illegal link we are responsible for it’s removal. We could easily say that it was posted by someone else and we had no knowledge of it or of it being illegal.

No, according to the article, they had an analog feed that didn’t tap into the game feed.
