Crazy Trade Idea
It's gonna sound crazy but i have an idea, a crazy idea, a crazy trade idea.
Sabres trade Vanek, Myers, and Roy to Nashville for Joe Ward, Jordan Tootoo, and Kevin Klein. et's face it the Sabres suck and they mind as well get younger by getting these 3 future stars. Vanek is nothng, Myers is gonna be a one year wonder, and Roy is pathetic.
Give Sabres fan somethng to cheer about they want Yung Gunz not these veteran Sabres.
Another note hockey is...
and i'm not a Southern Red Neck, i'm from North(NYC) and moved to Athens, Georgia( Georgian Suburbs) so don't call me a dumb red neck, I'm telling you this would be a great trade

So, you like the predators, huh? Ridiculous. Nashville three are older and way less talented. We’ll give you Lalime for Rinne though. lol

I don't know where to start
Historical data would prove that this season is the outlier in the data for Vanek, not the pattern. The lowest goal-scoring season he has had since 1999 was 15 in 35 games. In the NHL, the lowest was his rookie season total of 25, which he will eclipse this year as well as his assist totals for that year. He has averaged 40 goals over the prior 3 seasons to this and would go to show that he is simply having an off year. That being said, he is also on a pretty good streak right now and has been playing hurt for essentially the whole season. The guy has one bad year and he’s a bum? I don’t think so. Not to mention there is a LOT of hockey to be played this season and we are off to a great year regardless of his scoring. He has been much improved defensively and I honestly think his forechecking has greatly improved also.
Myers is a one-year wonder? Really? He just turned 20 and is still growing into his freakishly large body. He skates with the grace of a gazelle and frequently catches opposing defenses by surprise entering the zone. His long reach is a great asset, but he also plays tough, often diving in front of shots to block them. On that point he is also very tough. he hasn’t missed a game this year and has taken his share of a beating.
Derek Roy is having a down year. However, he is on pace for 58 points which is really not that bad.
You are proposing that we trade away 107 Points, including 36 goals and a +5 rating for 46 Points, including 14 goals and a -15 rating. Are you serious?? You also say you want to get rid of these “Veterans” to bring in some young “Yung Gunz”? Tootoo, Ward and Klein are a combined 81 years of age (27, 29, 25) while Vanek, Roy and Myers are a combined 72 years old (26, 26, 20). This seems to me to be a bad argument. You want to give Sabres fans something to cheer about? Don’t trade away our best young talent for another teams slightly older talent that is WAY WORSE. Why do we need Tootoo? Is our team soft? Do we need more 4th line depth? We should trade away Myers offensive ability for a defensive defenseman with a -12 rating? 9 game winning goals for 2? 16 PP goals for 3? The only statistical category in which these 3 preds are better than these Sabres “veterans” is PIMs and they have 1 SH goal to our 0 of these 3.

Seriously, you’re kidding, right?
If this is sarcasm, it’s brilliant. If it’s serious, you’re on crack for all the reasons that willgarr gives above.

Let's see, where to begin
Ages of Sabers players = 26 + 26 + 20 = 72
Ages of Perdators players = 25 + 27 + 29 = 81
Strike 1
Trade the “veteran one year wonder” Myers
Strike 2
Sabres combined = 107 pts +5 – Players locked up for at least next 2 season
Predators combined = 46 pts -15 – All three free agents by end of next season (including a RFA and UFA after this season)
Strike 3 – You’re Out (and just joining to post this seems like a troll)
Good point
about their contract situations. I didn’t even delve that far into it. Stats seemed to speak for themselves, but that is another reason that this is absurd.

I beg to differ
This was one of funniest things I’ve read on SB-Nation.
For instance, why does he feel the need to preemptively defend his living in Atlanta?… hilarious stuff.
Never before have I seen a post live up to its title so well.
