{Note}: Everyday during the Olympic Hockey tournament Die by the Blade will update the stats for members of the Buffalo Sabres.
Thanks to Fear the Fin for sharing this idea as a way to stay connected with our own team while they represent their country at the Olympics.

My God, the Swedes are just silly. I only saw 5 minutes, but they were really aggressive, constantly attacking and were tape to tape everytime.
Fatang Fatang.

I just went to check tomorrows schedule, and saw just what I expected: The USA/Finland game will be at noon PST. And then Canada gets the 6:30 PST game against Swe…wait…what’s that??…SLOVAKIA WON?!?! And ANDREJ SEKERA got a goal?!?!
Congrats to Andrej on being the first Sabre with a goal in this Olympic tournament.
This has been a crazy tournament. I think many (including myself, though I HOPED the US would have a shot) believed it would be a finish of #1 Russia, #2 Canada and #3 (Defending gold medaliists) Sweden. Now the quarterfinals have seen the exit of 2 of those medal favorites.
What I hope the podium will look like:
Gold – USA
Silver – Slovakia
Bronze – Finland
Miss – Canada
But honestly, what are the chances that Canada will end up losing 3 times in this tournament? Not likely. What I think the podium will look like:
Gold – Canada
Silver – USA
Bronze – Slovakia
Miss – Finland
Dmitri Kalinen and Maxim Afiniganov both had pointless goals against canada. Does that mean Roberto Luongo is weak to sabres? Andrej Sekera will score 12 goals!
Not even the Toronto Maple Leafs could kill my optimism

Just realized the Sabres will be represented on ALL of the semifinal teams.
I will be rooting for ’Rej and Ryan. Sorry, Toni and Lindy…
