Luke Adam and Colin Stuart Called Up To Sabres
With new injuries to Tim Connolly and Rob Niedermayer, the Sabres have a chance to evaluate some of the roster in Portland with their newest call ups in Luke Adam and Colin Stuart. We touched on the talent that Adam has shown in Portland this season, but in his first call up to the Sabres he didn't impress much.
Adam played two games during his first stint with the team in late October. In those two games, he had no points and was a -1 overall. He also saw the ice on average of 11 minutes per game and played most of those minutes with Tyler Ennis and Mike Grier.
Colin Stuart signed with the Sabres in the offseason as a depth player for Portland and is seeing his first NHL since the 2008-09 season with the Atlanta Thrashers. In 51 career games, Stuart has 8 goals and 13 total points.
The Sabres have some time to heal around the Thanksgiving holiday with three games in the next 10 days. It also gives a look at some of the future of the team as well.

Doesn't Look Like There Is Much In The Pipeline
The Sabres are in dire streights if all they can muster from Portland is Adam and Stuart. What they should do is bring Kassian up from Juniors.
Not possible but alright

what?
Luke Adam has 11 goals and 19 points, Stuart has 16 points as one of the veteran mentors (and it was mentioned Ellis may soon have to pass through waivers again which complicates him coming back up).
Kassian can’t come up UNLESS the Sabres are below the roster limit, AND it’s an emergency call-up where Kassian is the only player that could get here in time (ie, he’s in Hamilton and the Pirates are in Abbotsford or something). None of which applies.
Wake up
Adam and Stuart are doing very well against minor league goal tenders and defenses. Look what happen when Adam had to face NHL competition – NOTHING, NO POINTS, NO GOALS, NADA!
I’m referring to your implication that Kassian is obviously better than Adam when he’s playing against teenagers instead of minor-leaguers. I’d imagine the substitutions will be Adam-Connolly and Stuart-Niedermeyer, which is probably why they didn’t bring up someone younger up, as they needed a more defensively-oriented player.
Plus how is a callup going to produce playing with Mike Grier and McCormick? It’d be Matt Ellis again but there’s that waiver problem now. (and remember: we got him off waivers and he wasn’t as good before)
Mike Weber: Rejailed into the pressbox.
Everything wrong with the Sabres is Drew Stafford's fault.
It’s just classic Geolover. Completely illogical and completely negative about EVERYTHING.. Ever notice that he doesn’t post after a Sabres victory but always wants to throw people under the bus after a loss. Classic example of the worst type of “Fan.”
