Random Stat of the day!

Mike Weber’s Statline last year: 80 GP, 5G, 16A, +18, 152 PIMs.

Mike Weber collects a lot of penalty minutes. In fact, last year, his 152 PIMs much higher than the Sabres leader Craig Rivet with 100 (There are a lot more PIMs in the AHL i’ve noticed.) Oddly enough, that wasn’t even good enough to top his team (Cody McCormick had 168 in 14 less games) Also, it wasn’t even a career high.

In a wonderous display of efficiency, he managed to sit in the box for 178 minutes in 2007-2008, in only 59 games!

I’m sorry this is a little more mundane than the other ones. They can’t all be winners. And if you complain, Mike Weber will rough you up.

Anyone who says that needs to be slapped. Hard. And then told to back to watching the Bills. Hank is playing on the worst team in the NHL and playing poorly. The fans hate his signing. Lydman’s team is also in last place and fans would have been pissed that they re-signed him only to see him miss the first 4 games of the season.

The team has played with a fire we have seen way too seldom so far this season and it’s like they’re playing a simple but very effective game tonight. They’re staying out of the penalty box which is always important and offensively we’re maintaining pressure when in their zone and guys are playing intelligent hockey – chip and chase. The system works, we have seen it time and time again, and tonight the guys are executing it to perfection. Would be great to see Connolly get going tonight. It’s utterly paramount he keeps up playing to the level we all know he’s capable of, in other words playing with speed and aggressiveness and not shy away from shooting on goal.

The season is on the line in third period. Show up and we’ll perhaps look back and say this was a part of the Sabres way back on track or we’ll look back at this as just one of many games the Sabres threw away because of stupidity (in form of dumb penalties and bad plays)
