From what I understand, this is a point per dollar spent (or per salary cap dollar....I haven't read up on the methodology), so it isn't entirely about production. However, in the salary cap era, you need to have those pre-contract extension break-out players. Myers and Miller=good. Vanek and Hecht=bad. At least according to this.
