Yet another dis from the NHL
NHL.com posted a poll today. The question: Who will win the Calder trophy. The choices are:
John Tavares (C-NYI)
Victor Hedman (D-TB)
James vanRiemsdyk (LW-PHI)
Niclas Bergfors (LW-NJ)
Matt Duchene (C-Colorado)
Other
Fortunately, the voters seem to have more sense than the league. "Other" is currently in second place in the voting with 20.7%, only behind Tavares at 34.96%. Since this is the league's website doing this, I wonder if the league is intending on leaving Myers off the ballot.

thank you
The award is based on not just stats but how valuable that person is to their team. Myers is so big for us. We are basically the same team from last year with the addition of him, connolly healthy, kennedy, and montador. He should win this award hands down
Is this a joke?
Even if you go just by stats, Myers has 6 goals/20 assists/26 points. the rookie leader currently has 29 points. Myers—a defenseman—is producing almost as much offense as the forwards that NHL.com is nominating. Compare him to Hedman and it’s not even close—Hedman has only 14 points and he’s -10. Myers is +9, which is an important stat for a defenseman. Just a terrible oversight to leave him off the list. It sounds like they were going off of name recognition or something.
Not only is Myers in the top five, he seems to be the clear front runner for the Calder.
