The Maple Leafs got robbed by the Flames imo. They traded their best center (Stajan), their second-best Winger (Hagman), a very solid defenseman (Ian White) and their one ‘tough guy’ (Jamal Mayers). That’s a very hefty price to pay for a defenseman that has a lot of lacks offensively and who consistently is known for throwing the puck away.

Giguere is not what he once was and with his completely preposterous salary, I can only imagine they are going to restructure it and give him a long-term deal, which I either way think is a horrible idea, especially when you consider how maddening inconsistent he has been the last few seasons.

"The one commonality in both places (Oakland and Buffalo) is an aging owner who keeps interfering too much. Ralph Wilson continually butts his nose in the football operation and tells the team who to draft"

There’s no “restructuring”.

I like the JS trade for them – Anything was an upgrade over Toskalol.
the Phaneuf trade – I feel that the Flames win overall, although if Phaneuf steps it up and starts playing like he did 2 years ago then that would even things out.

HAHAHAHAHA!

Shows the faith the Leaves and Burke have in “The Monster”
First Kessel, now this… Phaneuf will probably love it in Toronto, and get paired with Komiserik, which would be beastly, but mistake prone.
Jiggy is a good pickup, but expensive…

New reports are that the Flames aren’t done, and will be taking on Ales Kotalik for Olli Jokinen.

A low producing high price center for a low producing, medium price wing who is incredible at shootouts.

lateral move aside from the price thing…
