Star-divide

Things You Should Know
  • With Tim Connolly's point streak coming to an end on Wednesday, Adam Mair is the only Sabres with a current point streak. Mair has two goals in the last two games.
  • Steve Montador and Toni Lydman will be back on the blue line for the Sabres tonight. Andrej Sekera and Nathan Paetsch will go back to the press box. Clarke MacArthur will also be back in the lineup and Tim Kennedy will take a seat in the press box.
  • Neither team has played particularly well in their recent games. The Sabres are 1-3-1 in their last five games while the Bruins are 0-4-1 and are currently on a four game losing streak. The Bruins are also just 3-8-1 in the month of January.
  • This might be the game that Thomas Vanek is able to break out. Vanek has enjoyed success against the Bruins throughout his career with 18 goals and 36 points in 32 games played. Derek Roy has also played well against the Bruins with 30 points in 36 games.
  • There may be some folks booing in the stands tonight. The Bruins have ex-Sabres Daniel Paille and Miro Satan on the team as well as Sabres draft pick Dennis Wideman. I expect the largest serenade to be reserved for Miro Satan.
  • Steve Begin and Marco Sturm will not be in the lineup for the Bruins tonight.
  • As per the popular vote here on Die by the Blade...Steve Montador is in Rafal's dog house. Hopefully it works for ya Monty!

Hey Everyone

I’m sorry to say that I won’t be in the game thread tonight. I’ll be hitting the DVR later tonight. Hopefully you guys and gals leave me entertained when I go back and read this.

I have a challenge for everyone. I want to nick name all the Sabres players. See what you can come up with.

I’m really tired of the stupid “nicknames” players have now like calling Roy “Roy-z”. Seems like a dumb trend of just adding a “Sie” “Z” or an “R.”
