Daily Links for Wednesday, Jan. 27
Wednesday: Latin for very little news about the Buffalo Sabres. Luckily, there's a game tonight, at 7pm against New Jersey. Thanks to this day of Wed, I'm gonna put a non-Sabres article before the break because I think it merits discussion - read the ESPN article below and post your feelings on John Buccigross's All-Star Game ideas.
All-Star memories, 2010 teams and advice for the future - ESPN
John Buccigross relives his favorite All-Star moments and picks his teams (Myers and Miller FTW) but the real reason this is linked is for the ridiculous, crazy, and super-fun sounding ideas Bucci gives to make the All-Star game something special instead of a crappy hockey game.
Rivet: Not a full team effort - Sabres Edge
The Sabres captain has some harsh words about the way the team played in Vancouver.

Ryan Miller's Team USA helmet combines the grace of Olympic hockey with the F*** YEAH!! of Team America: World Police.

The truth about cliches, Pt. 1 - The Hockey News
Drafted by the Sabres in 1987, David Littman is now a producer on the EA Sports NHL series. In this article, he takes hockey cliches, tells us what they really mean, and compares them to the process of creating a video game.

This loquacious title says it all. Buffalo native Patrick Kane looking very smooth without his top on.

I’m not sure I’m crazy about it. When I saw the blue star on the front, I immediately thought “Cowboys,” and I hated that. The rest of it was pretty cool though.

I'm okay with it:
1) With the red stars, it kind of blends in
2) I’m a Cowboys fan

sorry a little off topic
Is it bad that im nervous of Ottawa…? Shutting out the Devils last night. Now I know we have a few games in hand on them. But this isnt going well right now.
Is anyone else getting that nervous feeling??

They always make me nervous
They’re one of those streaky teams that can really turn it up when they want to (as we’re seeing now – 7 straight).
Regardless of who takes the division, they make me especially nervous as a potential postseason foe. The way they manhandled us in 2007 still leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.

Definitely agree.
I dont think its matters for the division, but the playoffs are a different story.
And the worst part is theyre getting healthy. Elliot is playing great and Spezza and Alfi are playing very well since theyve returned

I take solace in the fact that they won seven in a row, the sabres struggled for two weeks, and we are STILL 2 and a half wins up with games in hand.
Not even the Toronto Maple Leafs could kill my optimism

John Buccigross' All Star team
Hes got Chara paired with Myers. Imagine seeing that? Too bad there isnt an all star game this year because Im sure they’d pair the two together because of their height. Wouldnt mind seeing that next year ;-)

That would be awesome.
On a related note: I want Cuba Gooding Jr to be my left winger. Just saying.

Quite off topic...
But I didn’t want to make a full post about this (and don’t remember if I’ve mentioned it yet) but I got a first-hand look at a couple prospects this past weekend when North Dakota visited Cornell.
Feinhage played both nights, but was very quiet. So quiet, in fact, that I only noticed him on the ice once or twice across two games.
Eidsness played in the second of the two games, and looked pretty sharp. In a split weekend, he was the one that got the win for the Sioux. Also, he was a mere 9.6 seconds away from a shutout before Cornell buried a slap shot from the point with the extra man on the ice (but to no avail, as UND had a 2 goal lead).

If there’s similarity to Ryan Miller I DON’T want, it’s a propensity for Ryan Miller shutouts.
