With them playing on the same line, thats pretty good D by Buffalo. Gotta keep that up, because they are a hot team. And those two can go off at any point. Amazing they were drafted 2 and 3 and have stayed together this whole time. That must be pretty damn cool for them. Imagine that, being drafted back to back and playing with your twin brother right next to you all these years.

Kaleta is playing with Vanek and Roy. I like the way Patty is playing but that doesn’t sound like a potent offensive line to me. I don’t like that decision at all.

just saw a nice play in the offensive zone by mair, making the hit and taking the puck. That’s what he must do.
Derek Wills is fantastic
Not sure if Wills/Neale are on MSG or not, but this guy is the real deal. Very quick and exciting to listen to.

I'll stand by what I said in another post.
I prefer we dominate 1 of 3 shifts and score over dominating the game. (See: San Jose.)

I was about to say it was a good pinch by Montador.

don’t be surprised if you start hearing some completely random "woo"’s. the announcer this year is getting everyone to do that after canucks goals this year, and when the canucks have a stable lead, people will just start randomly doing it. incredibly annoying.

Can the Sabres frustrated your team? Honest question.
You have a very hot team right now. And right now it’s 0-0. From what I saw (10 minutes so far) I can believe the score could be different. And yet, this is the game Buffalo plays.
Not yet on the west coat part of this trip. But I’m hopeful about what I’ve seen.

Sure.
So, let me answer my own questions.
It took a while to embrace playing the trap. Rely on our goalie getting “looks”. And having a defense that can play backside first.
(Okay 2 of 3 so far tonite.)
But 50 games into things you learn to accept it. And yeah, you wonder how others see things.

I feel obligated to mention
the penalty occured after the shot and did not in any way cause the goal.
Sure it did.
I caused the net to come off when the Canuck player fell into it after the puc went in.
Anyone can see that without that phantom crosscheck there would have been no goal. Right?
This isn’t trolling…and I am glad the decision went our way…but the cross check to Ehrhoff caused the puck to go off of him and take the net off too.
Gaustad went for the player and not the puck.
I know its a shitty call, and it could have gone either way.
But I can see the logic…

Out here, we are quite familiar with bad calls.
Last night, the shoe was on the other foot so to speak.
The fact that Shorty and a few fans saw it your way just means it was a controversial call that could have went both ways…this time it went the wrong way for the Sabres.

But you have to admit that your logic breaks down if there wasn’t a cross-check. It breaks down completely.
And when the other refs, the goal light, and the opposition announcers all agree – in opposition to a single ref – well….
I just saw four crosschecks, two high sticks, and a trip. But the officials miss them all.

When you have the home team announcers calling it a “terrible call” then you know something’s up.
How the “penalty” had any relevance to the goal is stupid, in fact it actually looks like the “penalty” happened after the puck was in the net.
Unfortunatly, because of the newish delayed penalty rules, all goals are now disallowed during a delayed penalty unless the team shoots a puck into their own net.
So, you think the penalty was called (and thus a delayed penalty) before the review? Because I didn’t see an arm up, nor did the announcers say anything.
neither did Fraser
the horn blew which means a review and that is when he came over and called the penalty. He had no inention of calling a penalty until they were going to review it.

Only Detroit has won when Vancouver led after 40 minutes.
They said the Red Wings were the only team to “come from behind”. Tonite proves that wrong. We tied it up and couldn’t keep it that way.
