Sabres Play Seven National TV Games

The National Hockey League announced their National Television schedule today and the Buffalo Sabres are on the list a total of seven times. It looks like Versus was not scared away by the Sabres failure to make the playoffs the past two seasons.

The National Television schedule is headlined by a battle against the Detroit Red Wings on October 13. The Sabres will also play four consecutive Monday night games from November 30 - December 21. The Sabres versus schedule will conclude with a game against Northeast Division Champion Boston Bruins.

The Sabres were also listed on the NBC flex schedule for Mar 21.

I wonder if Versus pandered to the largest hockey markets at all?

Well, when you have the ratings that the NHL does on Versus, I would probably cater to the largest markets also. They need to do something. I even forget to check to see what game is on Versus and I’ll watch just about any hockey game.
