Sabres Sign UFA C Cody McCormick | Double Edged Sabres

Darcy Regier has finally made the splash we were all hoping for by signing Cody McCormick. Hey...when we are sort on news we have to make things seem more important than they really are. This does fill a glaring need for the Sabres and it eliminates the possibility of Peters returning to the team.

I have no clue about this kid, is he a playmaker, a tough guy, or just someone to load up the Pirates?

he is a tough guy on a two-way contract. He will likely start in Portland and be a depth player.

I live in Colorado and am from Buffalo and love both the franchises. I have watched Cody on and off for the last 2 seasons and was pissed when the Avs let him go, but am beyond stoked the Sabres grabbed him. He will deff. bring a lot of enthusiasm to the bench and crowd. The kid can score, plays nice 2 way, and is not afraid to take on anyone in the NHL face to face. He is young and will be a force if the Sabres take advantage of him. I see him becoming a constant 4th liner by seasons end.
